The Dream Trilogy by Nora Roberts consists of three books which follows 3 women. A similar patern to the Bride Quartet in the way that each book follows a woman and they all follow on from each other nicely.
Three women Margo, Kate and Laura who each have different backgrounds and very different stories who have come together because of one family and one ghost story.
Seraphina was a tragic story, she killed herself by jumping off of the cliff near to the Templeton home. There is a love story and mystery surrounding the tale and the three girls searched high and low to find Seraphinas idden treasure.
This story will bring them back together again as adults in this trilogy and how their lives have chnaged and the despite doing what they think as of the best when they were teenagers comes up and bites them in the ass as adults!
The books are called
Daring to Dream
Holding the Dream
Finding the Dream
Daring to Dream by Nora Roberts
Margo is a very fun character in this book and you cant help but love her. She is confident and strong and always gets what she wants. She is beautiful and knows it, knows how to use it and get what she wants.
Margo flirts with all and every man even Joshua, Lauras older brother who she secretly had a little crush on.
Margo was brought to Templeton estate with her mother, her mother is from Ireland and came to America and need work. She was employed as housekeeper by the Templetons and Margo was acepted as one of their own. As close as a sister to Laura. Along with Kate, Laura's cousin they became the best of friends and were taken in by the story of Seraphina and her lost treasure.
Each finding and holding a different meaning to the story.
Margo's mother in the book is very strict and tries to tame a very passionate girl which leads to Margo fleeing the town and heading for the fame and fortune.
She finds it of course and makes lots of money and travels the world.
An unfortunate event brings her back to the town where her family still live. She has no money and nowhere to go. They take her in and help her to rebuild her life once again.
Margo deals with loss and embaressment from her failing career and decides to open a business to sell all of her wonderful belongings.
Laura and Kate invest and they become partners.
The story is sad for Margo, you really feel for her and her mother appears to have no compassion for her and what she has been through.
Josh is secretly in love with her and tries to help her and his character is very loving but brutal at the same time. He understand Margo better than anyone and they eventually take a tumble in the sheets.
Margo is confused about how she feels for Josh so goes to the cliff to ask Seraphina for her advice. She finds a coin that dates back to Seraphina and she gets her answer.
The book has a lovely theme running that the women each have their own connection to the legend however it brings them all together. This books tells you a story of no matter how tough it can get your family and frieds are always there to help you and it can always get better, you just have to believe it.
A beautiful love story with Nora's unforgettable sex scenes that she is able to write so well.
Holding the Dream by Nora Roberts
Holding the dream is the second book in the trilogy and carries on fro Margo's story. Margo and Josh are married and happy and the three women are running the shop which is proving to be very sucessful.
Kate is an accountant and very good at her job.
She is so good that her life is all about her job and he has little time or effort for anything else.
She is constantly worried and chained to her desk in the hopes of becoming a partner in her firm.
The Templetons own a hotel and after Laura divorces her husband who ran it they employ a man to come in and run it.
Byron blew into town and was gorgeous and liked the look of Kate, he wanted her and set his mind to get her.
She was adamant she didint want a man and tried hard to not fall in love. Again asking for guidance from Seraphina Kate embarks on a journey to get her answers finding another coin similar to Margos. Leaving the mystery still unsolved.
A past history from her father and her current life in the accounts firm jeopardise her career and her life. Someone had set her up and she had to fight for her innocence.
The story is one of trying to get over the past and moving on, not letting the past dictate your future. The struggle between who you should be and who you are. Finding love and letting that rule all and just leet yourself go!
Finding the Dream by Nora Roberts
This is the last in the trilogy and again Nora completes the story and the mystery surrounding Seraphina and her lost treasure.
Laura is a mother of two girls and going through a rather nasty divorce of the man she fell in love with as a teenager. They married as soon as she was old enough and had children, he ran the business and she satyed at home to care for the children.
He cheated among other things and they divorced.
Michael came to stay at the estate, renting a stable and attached home to keep his horses which were his business and life.
He was rough and dangerous, scary and totally gorgeous (of course!) He immediately had a connection to Laura and they had an amazing time getting to know each other. He fell in love with the children and eventually with Laura.
She was scared and unwillling to let another man break her heart. Michael she thought was the type to do just that.
After much crazy feelings and arguments and running around she finally goes to the cliff to ask Seraphina for her guidance and a massive earth quake causes her to fall off of the cliff.
Michael saves her but not only does she find a coin, she finds the whole treasure. The three women together open the box and find Seraphinas secrets and finally understands why she killed herself.
Laura and Michael finally admit they are perfect for each other........
These three books were a brilliant read, i read them imediately after i read the bride quartet so was still engrossed in the romance of that story but i was able to get into this story so easily.
Nora grasps the concepts of people coming together from different backgrounds and how they each help each other get through their lives and troubles.
Nora ties in the mystery of Serapina so well and makes the book have an eerie supernatural feel to it.
Another brilliant read my score 6/10
